THE DAY I MET CHRIS FROOME.

May 30, 2014

Today I woke up at 8 in the morning, I think, for the first time since my final submission; and the reason behind it was that I (by choice) had planned to be in town, more specifically the WHSmith in the Arndale Shopping Centre, at 9 a.m. when it opens. And the reason for thattt is because Chris Froome was scheduled to have a book signing.

Now you might ask; Who isss this Chris Froome guy, that I, a person who’s hardly ever bothered with a meet and greet would go out of my way and voluntarily choose to stay 3 hours in a queue for to meet? Well if you must know, Chris Froome is a professional road cyclist under Team Sky and he won last year’s 100th Le Tour de France. Quite frankly thats about all I know about Chris Froome because (a) I’m not about to Google him for the sake of blogging about it, and (b) because I spent a considerable amount of time actually watching last year’s TDF with none other than… my boyfriend.

He’s actually the one who persuaded me to go for the book signing, but insisted that I came an hour before the event. However, despite my zero experience in book signings / meet and greet, I know better than to arrive a mere hourrr early to see a man who is considered a nationwide hero. Le Tour de France is no joke guys. I may not be a cycling aficionado, but I watched that race, and it is brutal. You would understand / respect these cyclists more if you, yourself have cycled. These people climb mountains on bikes. ’nuff said.

PACKING.

May 27, 2014

The final submission for Year Two of architecture was last Friday, so as of now I am a free bird ! But not really. For the last couple of days I’ve not been doing anything much other than (a) reading, (b) sleeping, (c) online shopping and (d) packing. (d) being the most obnoxious task out of them all.

When I first moved into my current apartment, I was determined that I was going to stay here until the end of my studies in Manchester. However, just the thought of having someone else I’m not relatively close to replace my cousin (also my flatmate) puts me off. And its not because I’m not sociable; I am more than capable of making conversation and getting along with strangers. I am however, not as open to living with strangers unless I absolutely have to (boarding school, etc) and am definitely not about to do it by choice.

So here I am taking a break from packing for my move to my friends’ place aka my place as of this coming September. So far I think I’ve done a decent job; I have successfully refrained myself from keeping things I absolutely will have no use for. I actually believe that I’ll have less boxes (aka less stuff in general) this time around than I did last year; when it took 15 boxes to fill all my belongings. Cue the gasps.

Its probably a good thing that Manchester is back to being Manchester; wet, and cold so I am less likely to be found frolicking around town instead of facing the reality that is my having to pack before my flight home next week (which I am super excited about but completely unprepared for).

Oh well, I’ve not got much to say at this specific point of time in my life so I’m going to continue clearing up my room so that I can move on to other sections of the apartment.

Cheers x

HELLO.

May 26, 2014

After some quiet contemplation, I’ve decided against importing the contents of my previous blog into this new domain. My old blog will always be there for my own self-reflection, but I feel like this domain deserves a fresh new start.

Another reason being that the import from Blogger to WordPress did not go all that smoothly (the spaces between paragraphs disappeared and I discovered a number of extra blogposts that  some ‘magic sprites’ aka spambots have been publishing on my behalf) and I just could not be bothered to edit nor salvage each and every post.

So hello ! Welcome to my (new) blog 🙂
